You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Contract Technical Sourcer to lead top-of-funnel recruiting across engineering at Apptronik. This position focuses on identifying talent where hardware, software, and systems intersect. You will research and engage passive candidates for specialized positions, moving beyond basic keyword matching to find engineers capable of building complex electro-mechanical systems. You will partner directly with engineering leaders to define technical requirements and deliver qualified talent for critical roles in robotics and systems engineering.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Targeted Research & Sourcing: Identify candidates with specialized skills across firmware, perception, mechatronics, and systems integration. Use advanced search techniques (e.g., X-ray, GitHub, patent databases) to locate talent outside of standard job boards.
  • Candidate Engagement: Develop and execute personalized outreach strategies to connect with passive talent, presenting complex technical opportunities clearly and professionally.
  • Hiring Manager Partnership: Collaborate with Engineering Managers to deconstruct technical requirements and adjust search strategies based on market feedback and calibration.
  • Pipeline Management: conduct initial screens to assess technical relevance and manage the early stages of the candidate pipeline, ensuring accurate data tracking in the ATS (Greenhouse).
  • Recruiting Team Collaboration: Partner with Full-Cycle Recruiters and Recruiting Coordinators to ensure seamless candidate hand-offs and efficient scheduling.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical Sourcing Capability: Ability to review and evaluate technical profiles across hardware and software disciplines, distinguishing between generalist and specialist skill sets.
  • Market Knowledge: Understanding of the engineering landscape regarding robotics, automation, or complex hardware products.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for candidate outreach and stakeholder management.
  • Work Style: Self-motivated with an interest in understanding complex technical domains. Capable of managing multiple priorities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of sourcing experience, specifically within robotics, hardware, or complex systems engineering.
  • Experience sourcing for roles that combine hardware and software (e.g., Embedded Systems, Computer Vision etc.).
  • Proficiency with Greenhouse (preferred) or similar Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
  • Hearing and speech to communicate
