b.well is seeking a Developer Experience Manager to serve as the technical expert and trusted advisor for developers integrating with our connected health platform. This is a highly cross-functional, individual contributor role for someone who thrives on empowering developers—creating exceptional documentation, solving complex technical challenges, and ensuring seamless implementation experiences across our diverse client ecosystem.

You will be the go-to expert on b.well's SDKs and APIs, serving as the critical bridge between our developer community and internal engineering, product, and customer success teams. This role requires someone who can dive deep into technical issues, translate complex concepts into clear documentation, provide expert-level support during implementations, and continuously elevate the developer experience—all while maintaining a customer-first mindset in a fast-paced startup environment.

If you are seeking an opportunity to apply your technical expertise and communication talents to help fix America's largest industry challenges, then look no further. As a Developer Experience Manager at b.well, you will directly impact how health plans, providers, and healthcare innovators build on our platform to transform the way millions of people interact with their health data.

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as Tier 2/3 technical support for developers at health plans, providers, and partner organizations during implementation and post go-live, diagnosing complex issues and delivering timely resolutions
  • Own and transform our external developer documentation portal, creating clear, comprehensive, and developer-friendly content including guides, tutorials, API references, and code samples
  • Become a subject matter expert in b.well's SDKs (Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript) and APIs (REST, GraphQL, FHIR), staying current with platform updates and new capabilities
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to resolve technical challenges, ensure developer voices shape product evolution, and draft technical release notes for SDK and API updates
  • Uncover the real problems behind support requests, asking the right questions to understand developer intent and deliver solutions that address underlying challenges
  • Create code samples, integration examples, tutorials and best practice documentation that accelerate developer success
  • Monitor support metrics and developer feedback to identify documentation gaps, common pain points, and opportunities for improvement
  • Other duties as assigned
We Believe in Team Members Who:
  • Transform challenges into innovative solutions - Be Solution Focused
  • Use data as a compass for strategic choices - Be Data-Driven
  • Drive with purpose and flexibility - Be Truly Agile
  • Own outcomes with confidence and clarity - Be Accountable and Decisive
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, developer relations, technical support, or developer advocacy roles
  • Hands-on development experience with APIs and SDKs, with ability to read and write code in multiple languages
  • Strong programming knowledge in Kotlin, Swift, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar languages
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and GraphQL; familiarity with FHIR is highly desirable
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to diagnose technical issues, understand root causes beyond surface-level symptoms, and work cross-functionally to deliver solutions
  • Experience creating technical documentation, API references, developer guides, or similar content
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong system-level organizational skills
  • Quick learner who can rapidly become proficient in new technologies, platforms, and domains
  • Self-starter with ownership mentality and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with documentation tools (ReadMe, Swagger/OpenAPI) and support systems (Jira Service Desk)
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities in a dynamic startup environment
