As the AV/IT Technician you are Capital Factory’s secret weapon, working cross functionally to ensure all AV/IT operations are able to execute smoothly without a glitch! You will work closely with the Workplace, Events, and Venue teams while also supporting all staff, members, clients, guests, and building personnel in a professional and friendly manner.
What you will do…
- Help staff and third-party event organizers use our AV equipment. If you can’t be there, you communicate with event staff to make sure everything runs smoothly.
- Ensure Google Meet, Cisco Webex, and all other equipment is functioning for video calls in conference rooms.
- Maintain and organize event livestreams and videos.
- Perform moderate manual labor like moving tables or mounting a TV into a wall.
- Assist the Workplace Team with their operational tasks, as needed.
- Read and interpret equipment specifications and service manuals.
- Be a trusted administrator for our equipment.
- Be on the lookout for ways to improve the space and amenities offered.
- Keep server rooms and all peripherals stocked, tidy, and organized.
- Maintain composure in a sometimes stressful, sometimes tedious environment. Events are always changing!
The AV/IT Technician works with the Workplace Team with the following:
- Printer Issues.
- IT training with new hires.
- Keeping iPads, TVs, Sonos, and company computers functional and up to date.
- Basic maintenance of our network infrastructure and IP security camera system.
- General workplace tasks and space/fixture needs.
You’ll know you’re successful if…
- Capital Factory events run smoothly, and any chaos or technical difficulties are invisible to the audience.
- People who use the conference rooms, coworking spaces, and event spaces are able to do so without any difficulty.
- The conference rooms and event spaces are free of AV-clutter and tangles every day.
- We don’t have any reports of malfunctioning equipment. When it comes to tickets, no news is good news!
- We accumulate a folder full of process documents that ensure our success in the future.
About you…
- You are a skilled troubleshooter.
- You are organized and plan ahead, but you don’t get stressed out when things change at the last minute. Because they will. You roll with it.
- You are proficient in all aspects of A/V, including video conferencing, audio system configuration, and basic event production.
- You might have experience with (or are happy to learn about):
- TCP/IP Networking, Dante, Extron, and Audio/Video recording and formats.
- You are creative, flexible, and have strong communication skills.
- You perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- You are familiar and enthusiastic about entrepreneurship and the tech startup scene or willing to learn about it.
- You have 1-3 years of related experience.
- You live in Austin, are willing to be onsite everyday, and plan to commit to this role for at least one year.
