Pioneer the Electronics Behind the Future of Manufacturing

Creative 3D Technologies (C3DT) is rewriting how and where physical products are made. We’ve developed an award-winning Single-Cell 3D Printing system that consolidates large portion factories into a single modular machine capable of executing high-precision, multi-material manufacturing with the swap of a module.

As we scale our technology to real-world deployment, we’re building a Development Team focused on refining our systems for end-use customers in the field readiness. We’re seeking a hands-on, sharp-thinking Electrical Engineer to help us push industrial electronics to their highest potential, delivering performance, reliability, and integration for our motion systems.

The Role: Industrial-Grade Troubleshooter & Builder

As our Development Team Electrical Engineer, you’ll become the go-to person for solving electrical challenges inside our active motion platforms. You’ll debug problems as they emerge, propose and prototype elegant solutions, and personally take those solutions to the finish line whether that means building custom boards, sourcing and specifying connectors, or collaborating with suppliers and vendors to lock down requirements.

This is a high-impact, high-ownership position where your work will ship on machines used in real-world customer deployments. You’ll be part of a tight-knit development team that thrives on speed, trust, and hands-on iteration.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve real-world electrical issues in complex motion platforms, including stepper and servo-based systems.
  • Design, prototype, and implement reliable circuit-level solutions for motor control, sensor integration, and power distribution.
  • Create or modify schematics, select components, and work closely with PCB designers or in-house fabricators to deliver quick-turn hardware solutions.
  • Interface directly with embedded systems (e.g., BigTreeTech, STM32, CAN-based controllers), contributing to firmware-level integration and validation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to co-develop robust, field-ready solutions that survive vibration, EMI, and real-world abuse.
  • Perform assessments and diagnostics using scopes, logic analyzers, and other instrumentation to debug and validate system performance.
  • Source off-the-shelf, or engage in conversations to procure custom, components and interface with vendors to specify cables, connectors, harnesses, and safety interlocks with industrial-grade reliability.
  • Contribute to documentation, testing plans, and iterative development cycles in collaboration with the broader development team.

What You’ll Need

Hard Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing or troubleshooting electronics in industrial machinery (e.g., CNCs, robotic arms, additive manufacturing platforms).
  • CAN Bus expertise, including practical experience with CANopen, CAN-FD, or custom CAN protocols in motion systems.
  • Experience with motion control electronics (stepper/servo/BLDC), including EMI mitigation, thermal design, and motor driver integration.
  • Comfort with embedded control systems (e.g., BigTreeTech, STM32, Octopus boards) and interfacing with low-level firmware or control logic.
  • Competency in circuit analysis, schematic review, and power system design, especially in high-current or noisy environments.
  • Hands-on skill with test tools: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power meters, multimeters.
  • U.S. Person status (as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15) required due to export control compliance.
  • On-site work required in Austin, TX (commute or relocate); no remote.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with industrial standards: CE, ISO 13849, IPC-A-610, or UL compliance.
  • Experience working with vendors to create or source connectors, harnesses, and custom assemblies.
  • Consulting or field experience optimizing electronics for uptime, diagnostics, or production environments.
  • Startup or R&D experience building systems where failure is feedback and iteration is fast.

Why Join C3DT?

If you’re the kind of engineer who wants to see your work ship in real-world products today, not years from now, this is your lab. We’re a hands-on, hardware-heavy company building actual machines that run in the field. You’ll have autonomy, impact, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a once-in-a-generation shift in manufacturing.

We believe in rewarding performance, not tenure. As you deliver impact, you’ll be eligible for:

  • Stock options tied to technical KPI milestones
  • Annual bonuses based on team performance
  • Annual compensation increases
  • PTO, paid holidays, and a health benefits package
