The Intermediate DevSecOps Engineer plays a key role in implementing secure, agile infrastructure solutions. This position involves setting up and managing continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, deploying and managing containerized applications on Kubernetes, and maintaining cloud infrastructure using modern tools, while contributing to complex DoD projects. The focus is on hands-on technical execution and collaboration to drive security, reliability, and efficiency within the development and operations lifecycle.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in solving technical challenges and adapt to new technologies with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Conduct technical analysis of operating systems, applications, databases, networks, and storage systems.
  • Establish and configure infrastructure using infrastructure as code and automated configuration tools.
  • Support and maintain a robust DevSecOps platform supporting agile software development.
  • Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Gitlab following organizational best practices.
  • Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Configure and operate monitoring and alerting solutions for cloud infrastructure.
  • Apply security controls compliant with NIST 800-171, DoD Cloud Computing SRG, CMMC, and FedRAMP under senior engineer direction.
  • Develop scripts and automation to support engineering teams.
  • Introduce DevSecOps practices and tools to engineering teams.
  • Contribute to DevOps best practices in areas such as code health, testing, deployment, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Support cost optimization efforts by monitoring service usage and assisting with auto-scaling configurations.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field.
  • 4+ years of professional DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and frameworks, including Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
  • Hands-on experience deploying containerized applications leveraging GitOps principles and tooling
    (ArgoCD or Flux).
  • Experience working in cross-functional software development teams.
  • Proficiency with public cloud providers (AWS or GCP preferred).
  • Practical experience operating Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio and Linkerd.
  • Proficiency in automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Helm.
  • Familiarity with implementing security controls (NIST 800-171, CMMC, FedRAMP) in regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Gitlab Pipelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to industry best practices in privacy and security.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for government information systems access.
  • Active secret security clearance.

Preferred Experience:

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
  • CNCF Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA).
  • DoD IAT Level II Security Certification (Security + CE, GSEC, SSCP, or CNNA Security).
  • Scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and workflow automation.

Clearance Information: Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information.
