SUMMARY
Cloud Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing Cloud infrastructure automation across a multi cloud fabric. This is an opportunity to showcase your passion new-age Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, and SRE, in a fast moving and dynamic digital transformation environment. This position requires you to participate and lead hands on automation with Terraform, implementing IaC over multi cloud infrastructure fabrics.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide hands-on technology expertise to business and technology leads, partnering with business units to shape and promote the direction, vision, and strategy for the engineering team across the company.
- Lead the development of requirements and manage engagement to automate onboarding Cloud services through a service catalog.
- Work collaboratively across global teams of Infrastructure and Cloud Ops, DevOps, and SRE engineers.
- Manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes.
- Assist in the implementation of solutions based on architectural best practices and established architectural frameworks, with guidance from a senior member of Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE).
- Ability to work overtime when necessary.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Master’s degree in computer science and engineering is preferred.
- Current coding experience and expertise in Terraform, Python, or Java.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in successful Infrastructure as Code implementations.
- Strong exposure to Cloud Technologies.
- GCP Associate Cloud Engineer (good to have).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (good to have).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to learn new technologies and adapt to them.
- Experience with on-premises based Private Cloud and Public Cloud (GCP preferred/AWS/Azure).
- Expert level development and coding skills in Terraform, Python, or Java.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
- Deep knowledge of cloud automation practices (in one or more of the following modular areas - Auto-scale infrastructure provisioning, automated infrastructure testing, automated monitoring).
- Knowledge of automation services like Lambda and API Gateway.
- Experience in cloud-native network, storage, and virtualization technologies and associated automation.
- Experience in Software design patterns (microservices, messaging, distributed architectures).
- Experience with containers-related technologies and CI/CD tools – Jenkins, pipelines, container repos, etc.
- Experience in infrastructure automation tools – Terraform, Ansible, Java, Python, etc.
- Experience in PaaS logging, monitoring, and observability tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Splunk, etc.
- Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with Infrastructure/Configuration/Policy as Code.
