SUMMARY

As a Senior Manager - Hybrid IT, SRE, you will collaborate closely with key product and engineering stakeholders to implement SRE practices and enhance the reliability of a wide range of complex products at RealPage. This role includes team management, documentation, and defining/tracking SLA, SLI, and SLO metrics. The SRE Manager will manage, mentor, coach, and lead a group of SREs responsible for products in a large and complex environment.

This position reports to the Senior Director - Hybrid IT in India and functionally collaborates with a VP/Senior Director in the US.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage in SRE projects and on-call rotations to maintain operational workflows and address issues.
  • Foster a healthy and functional work environment.
  • Maintain project and operational workload statistics.
  • Provide a solid foundation for building and maintaining successful SRE teams.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and experience with complex systems to enhance the company’s platform.
  • Work closely with functional leadership to execute the SRE roadmap.
  • Implement APM and other monitoring tools to increase reliability and proactive monitoring.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and technicians.
  • Build and lead a diverse team, developing both technical capabilities and leadership qualities.
  • Manage system upgrades, integration, automated provisioning processes, rebuilds, and other projects as required.
  • Implement process improvements and inform best practices in operations.
  • Work with senior management to propose, agree, and deliver IT services with defined Service Level Agreements.
  • Establish systems monitoring capabilities to proactively address issues.
  • Establish application/systems patch management procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain SLAs.
  • Develop strategic goals and objectives for quality improvements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • 12+ years of overall work experience managing mid to large enterprises handling complex environments.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in Site Reliability Engineering for a team.
  • Proven track record of designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining infrastructure on a large scale.
  • Preferred candidates with professional experience starting from a product developer role and transitioning to an SRE role.
  • A passion for SRE/DevOps and managing highly resilient/automated systems.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing multiple technical resources, including architects, across multiple shifts.
  • 2+ years of experience in on-prem to cloud migration of products.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Windows environments.
  • Understanding of DevOps processes and tools (Azure DevOps, GITHUB, Azure Cloud, etc.).
  • Automation experience.
  • Ability to compile KPIs and promote best practices in performance and reliability across the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem-solving; detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills; effective at summarizing and communicating complex information.
  • Demonstrated professional maturity to handle confidential information.
  • Self-starter able to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certification in SRE/DevOps/RHCSA/RHCE.
