When you join us as a Heavy Duty/Mobile Mechanic, your personal and professional goals will be fueled by your drive to keep our guests on the road by performing preventative maintenance services for their vehicles. You will perform advanced diagnostics, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Class 1-8 commercial vehicles and fleet equipment in a mobile service environment.
This role serves as a technical leader in the field, providing expert troubleshooting support, mentoring of other technicians, and acting as a trusted advisor to customers. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in heavy-duty vehicle systems, committed to safety, and capable of working independently while delivering exceptional service.
Your key responsibilities fall under the following areas:
· Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs
· Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) services and DOT inspections on Class 1-8 commercial vehicles and trailers.
· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
· Perform repairs on:
- o Diesel and gasoline engines
- o Air and hydraulic brake systems
- o Steering and suspension systems
- o Driveline and differential components
- o Manual and automatic transmissions
- o HVAC and refrigeration systems
- o Electrical and charging systems
- o Engine management and emissions systems
· Conduct advanced diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket diagnostic equipment.
· Perform follow-up repairs identified during inspections and preventative maintenance services.
· Road test vehicles when necessary to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
· Mobile Operations
· Operate and maintain a company-issued mobile service vehicle.
· Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
· Manage service truck inventory, tools, parts, and equipment.
· Source replacement parts through approved vendors as needed.
· Customer Service & Communication
· Serve as the lead technician during field service calls.
· Communicate repair recommendations, findings, and estimates professionally with customers.
· Build strong customer relationships by delivering safe, reliable, and timely service.
· Coordinate with management and support teams for repair approvals and work order completion.
· Documentation & Compliance
· Complete repair orders, inspection reports, DOT documentation, and electronic work records accurately and on time.
· Upload photos and maintenance records using company-provided technology.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Pay: $25.50 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
