Company Description

Workleap is a Montreal-based tech company on a mission to make work simpler.

Since 2006, we’ve been building game-changing products that tackle HR and IT’s biggest challenges.

Workleap operates two distinct product lines:

  • The Workleap Platform, an AI-powered HR solution designed to drive team performance and boost employee engagement.
  • ShareGate, the leading Microsoft 365 migration and governance solution, trusted by IT professionals worldwide for its unmatched simplicity.

Today, more than 20,000 companies rely on Workleap products to grow, lead, and operate with confidence.

We’re builders at heart, with a clear purpose: to craft the simplest products that deliver exceptional value for our customers. Period.

Job Description

So, what will your new role look like?

You'll play a key role in expanding what ShareGate can migrate. The team is dedicated to bringing entirely new migration types to market, from Teams private chats to Slack conversations to mailbox migrations. As a developer on this team, you'll help shape how organizations handle some of their most sensitive data migrations, while contributing to a modern, high-quality codebase.

Responsabilities:

  • Design and build net-new migration features across a variety of Microsoft 365 and third-party workloads (e.g. Teams private chats, Exchange Online mailboxes, Resource Mailboxes etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with your Product Manager and Product Designer to translate discovery findings and customer needs into reliable, well-crafted software.
  • Navigate unfamiliar APIs, protocols, and data models as new migration targets are scoped and explored.
  • Update, refactor, and maintain the codebase as features mature, upholding development standards and ensuring reliability at scale.
  • Continuously improve test coverage to catch regressions and guarantee migration fidelity.
  • Support the customer support team by investigating complex technical escalations on newly shipped migration types.
  • Leverage AI coding tools (such as Claude and GitHub Copilot) as a natural part of your development workflow to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.

A typical week?

You'll contribute across the full product development lifecycle:

  • Exploring new migration workloads through research, prototyping, and API investigation, using AI tools to accelerate discovery and reduce time spent on boilerplate.
  • Delivering incremental improvements to recently shipped migration capabilities.
  • Collaborating daily with your teammates and product partners through standups, design discussions, and async communication.
  • Sharing knowledge with the broader ShareGate Migrate engineering organization as the team uncovers new technical patterns.

What does the tech stack look like?

  • C# / .NET Framework / .NET Standard
  • WPF
  • Microsoft Graph SDK / MSAL / EWS
  • PowerShell 5/7

What does your future team look like?

You'll join a focused team of developers working directly with a Product Manager and Product Designer. The team is responsible for expanding ShareGate into migration workloads that matter most to our customers, beyond what ShareGate has traditionally covered. You'll be part of the broader ShareGate Migration department, a collaborative network of teams with access to staff developers for technical guidance and cross-team alignment.

The team operates with a strong bias toward rapid ideation and self-driven experimentation. You won't wait to be handed a solution, you'll be expected to form hypotheses, run quick proofs of concept, and bring your findings back to the team. AI-assisted development is a core part of how the team works, not an afterthought. You'll be expected to bring hands-on experience with AI coding tools and a mindset oriented toward getting the most out of them.

What are the next challenges awaiting your team?

  • Bringing new migration workloads to market.
  • Establishing reusable technical patterns and foundations that make it faster to ship each new migration type.
  • Balancing active feature delivery with exploratory, discovery-heavy nature of tackling entirely new workloads.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience delivering commercial software products with strong customer adoption;
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining applications in C#/.NET;
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as part of your day-to-day development workflow;
  • Comfort working with unfamiliar APIs and data models, with a genuine curiosity for figuring out how new systems work;
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle ambiguous and technically complex challenges;
  • Clear, proactive communicator who takes ownership, operates with transparency, and keeps teammates informed;
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph SDK, MSAL, EWS, or third-party messaging APIs (Slack, Teams) is an asset.

Salary range: $95K–125K CAD.
This range reflects our Canada-wide compensation scale. Final offers may be adjusted based on the candidate’s region to align with local market conditions.
