Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer with prior experience in a relevant engineering field to provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the Red 6 ATARS product.
This position involves working in the field where customer aircraft are refitted, maintained, and/or flown. This role will provide crucial support to engineering teams by assisting in various technical and administrative tasks. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and attention to detail to contribute to ensuring ATARS customer satisfaction and prompt resolution of customer concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Provide on-site technical support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ATARS.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise in the field.
Responsible for maintaining ATARS maintenance, installation, and debug tools for the field.
Install and commission hardware, software, and other engineering components.
Design, automate, and run electrical testing.
Work with design engineers to diagnose hardware and software failures
Facilitate communication between engineering, program management, and external stakeholders.
Able to complete ad-hoc internal and external presentations with guidance from senior managers.
Adhere to safety and FOD protocols and guidelines during on-site activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
2+ years of experience in field engineering or a related technical role
Familiarity with military aircraft and/or aerospace
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with project management methodologies
Familiarity with debugging electronics
Familiarity with Linux
Experience with benchtop lab equipment
Technical troubleshooting and On-site support
Installation and commissioning
Client communication and Documentation
Safety compliance
Qualified candidates must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship.
Working Conditions: The role involves frequent travel to project sites, often in outdoor or flightline environments. Field Engineers may work in varying weather conditions and should be comfortable working on-site. 50% travel required.
