The Role

We are seeking an experienced Configuration Management (CM) Manager to own and lead the Red 6 CM organization and its technical management processes. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing CM processes that ensure product integrity, traceability, and baseline control throughout the full product lifecycle. • Interface with PLM tools (e.g., PTC Windchill, Teamcenter, or equivalent) to manage configuration data and engineering change workflows.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure CM requirements flow down and compliance is maintained across the supply chain.

  • Develop and track CM metrics, report status and issues to program leadership and customers on a regular cadence.

  • Support proposal activities by defining CM scope, estimating CM labor, and contributing to technical volumes.

Required Qualifications

  • AA/AS or BA/BS in related technical discipline, plus 8+ years of progressive CM experience in aerospace, defense, or a closely related highly regulated industry.

  • 3+ years in a leadership role, including technical management process ownership.

  • Deep working knowledge of CM standards and principles (e.g., part numbering, release workflows).

  • Demonstrated experience administering CCBs, processing engineering changes, and managing configuration baselines through development and production.

  • Proficiency with PLM tools (PTC Windchill, Teamcenter, or equivalent), CAD systems, and data management systems.

  • Experience with DoD government contracts, CDRL management, and configuration audit processes.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly present CM status and issues to program leadership and customers.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Engineering, Program Management, Production, and Quality teams.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related technical field.

  • Prior experience in a startup or like environment where CM processes were being stood up or incrementally scaled.

  • Experience with PTC Windchill and CREO as part of integrated design and CM workflows.

  • Knowledge of MIL-STD documentation standards and defense acquisition lifecycle processes, specifically MIL-HDBK-61 Configuration Management and IEEE/ISO 15288 Systems and software engineering — System life cycle processes.
