About the Role
As the Director of Marketing, you'll lead the charge in crafting and executing innovative marketing plans to propel Shipwell to new heights. This role is perfect for a passionate marketing player-coach who thrives on staying ahead of the curve and achieving measurable results.
What you’ll do when you get here:
- Lead Marketing Strategy:
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to understand the software landscape and target audience.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans that align with the company's overall business goals.
- Set marketing objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
- Manage Small Marketing Team:
- Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing marketing team, including vendors with diverse skill sets (content marketing, social media, SEO, etc.).
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide coaching and mentorship to marketing team members.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented marketing department culture.
- Drive Brand Awareness and Demand Generation:
- Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, content, social media, PR) to generate brand awareness and leads.
- Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources strategically to maximize return on investment (ROI).
- Analyze marketing campaign performance and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
- Product Marketing and Launches:
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new software products.
- Collaborate with product development teams to ensure messaging aligns with product features and benefits.
- Manage product positioning and messaging across all marketing materials.
- Channel/Partner Marketing:
- Develop and oversee marketing programs specifically designed for channel partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners to maximize their effectiveness in selling the software.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve:
- Stay informed about the latest marketing trends and technologies.
- Identify and implement innovative marketing strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
- Continuously monitor the marketing landscape and adapt strategies as needed.
- Metrics & Reporting:
- Track and analyze marketing campaign performance using data analytics tools.
- Generate reports to measure marketing ROI and present findings to company leadership.
- Use data insights to inform future marketing strategies and tactics.
What you need to have:
- BA/BS degree in communications, marketing, PR, journalism or a related field
- 9+ years experience in marketing
- 4+ years as a marketing director leading teams
- Proven success in driving impact in previous positions
- Experience leading strategy and execution of marketing campaigns
- Analytical and creative thinking
- Thorough knowledge of web analytics (Google Analytics)
- Experience using Salesforce

The Salary Range for this role is between $120,000 to $160,000/year. Compensation is based on several factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
