About the Role

As a Vice President of Corporate Development, you will oversee data partnerships, product partnerships, and M&A strategy for SubjectWell. You will also be responsible for building out capabilities such as data matrix, client, market, and competitor intelligence, strategic gap analyses, sizing of new opportunities, and prioritization. This will be an individual contributor role, requiring organization, self-motivation, strong attention to detail, and extensive modeling and presentation experience. The position offers significant responsibility and broad exposure to many aspects of the business. You should have experience framing and analyzing complex problems, developing recommendations, partnering with business leaders to drive execution, facilitating governance and communication processes, and playing a key role in informing and influencing decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clear explanations and make well-founded recommendations to senior management.
  • Maintain a strong network of industry contacts and continually seek competitive intelligence.
  • Provide guidance to the development of analytical models and work with finance to perform financial analyses to value opportunities comprehensively.
  • Manage multiple business initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and work with legal counsel as required
  • Actively participate in relevant external meetings and conferences
  • Develop and implement business and corporate development initiatives that are consistent with corporate strategy
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify, prioritize, and cultivate partnership and acquisition opportunities
  • Present market scan of opportunities, including how respective opportunities would accelerate SubjectWell's strategic priorities
  • Work intimately with product and functional teams to execute

      • Digital Channels
      • Communities, Associations
      • Payors, Hospitals & Pharmacies
      • Genomics and Healthcare Companies
    • Product Expansion Partners
    • Acquisitions
  • Coordinating internal and external project teams
  • Performing valuation and financial analyses
  • Facilitating due diligence
  • Constructing and delivering executive and board updates, including seeking formal approvals
Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, problem-solving ability and creativity
  • Ability to effectively interface with the commercial organization, R&D, finance, legal, and executive management
  • A scientific background/literacy with strong analytical capabilities
  • A bachelor's degree is required, with an MBA or MS preferred
  • At least 5 - 8 years of business/corporate development experience with an emphasis on the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
  • A solid understanding of oncology and rare diseases players, associations, communities, and technologies, and a Rolodex of industry contacts
  • Strong background in digital marketing data sources
  • Ability to accurately assess longer-term implications of changing business models with a simultaneous focus on optimizing the short-term, understanding the growth drivers of the business, and prioritizing initiatives that will accelerate growth
