BACKEND SOFTWARE ENGINEER

About the Team

Downstream is disrupting the waste industry by connecting waste companies with customers through our waste marketplace with a reliable logistics engine for routing haulers. It's "first mile delivery", not recycling. We are seeing hyper-growth and expanding our Engineering roles! We are looking for self-motivated engineers to join our Denver office (or remote) to build the infrastructure system which powers Downstream marketplace of waste producers, sellers and haulers.

About the Role

  • Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logic

  • Building reusable code and libraries for future use

  • Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability

  • Implementation of security and data protection

  • Design and implementation of data storage solutions

What We're Looking For

  • A proven track record of experience building scalable, maintainable backend solutions with Node.js or similar technologies

  • Own and ensure the resolution of complex problems found in our systems and integrations

  • Communicate patterns and solutions through both thorough written documentation and technical presentations

  • Experience leading/owning a project and effectively communicating progress and delivery expectations

  • You excel at determining prioritization

  • You're creative and love finding novel solutions to complex problems

  • You’re scrappy and willing, at times, to wear multiple hats across software-related activities
