Full Stack Engineer + AWS Cloud Solutions Architect

SOTAOG is building production-grade, customer-facing SaaS platforms for the energy industry. We are looking for a hands-on Full Stack Engineer + AWS Cloud Solutions Architect who can contribute across the application stack while owning our AWS architecture, governance, security, reliability, and scalability.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines strong product-development skills with deep AWS expertise. You will work closely with product engineers, make practical architecture decisions, and serve as the primary technical authority for AWS infrastructure.

Mandatory Eligibility

  • B.Tech or Dual Degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
  • 5–8 years of overall professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on AWS experience.
  • Strong full-stack web development background.
  • Experience building and operating production SaaS applications with active customers.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Engineering

  • Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing SaaS applications.
  • Build modern frontend applications using React, Next.js, Angular, or similar technologies.
  • Develop secure and scalable APIs and microservices using Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET.
  • Design reliable relational and NoSQL database solutions.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls.
  • Improve application performance, maintainability, security, and user experience.
  • Review application architecture, code, APIs, and pull requests.
  • Diagnose production issues across frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure layers.

AWS Architecture

  • Own AWS architecture from application deployment through production operations.
  • Design a multi-account strategy for Production, Staging, and Development.
  • Architect and operate containerized applications using ECS and Fargate.
  • Define a long-term cloud roadmap aligned with business and customer growth.
  • Create and maintain system architecture and infrastructure diagrams.
  • Evaluate architectural trade-offs and establish technical standards.

Infrastructure and Governance

  • Establish Terraform workflows covering plan, review, approval, and apply.
  • Create reusable, version-controlled Terraform modules.
  • Implement strict production change-management and approval processes.
  • Enforce least-privilege IAM policies and secure access controls.
  • Reduce infrastructure blast radius and prevent accidental production disruption.
  • Review infrastructure pull requests and approve production changes.
  • Implement secure secrets and configuration-management practices.

Networking and Security

  • Design secure VPC architectures with public and private subnets.
  • Configure routing, NAT gateways, security groups, network ACLs, and VPC endpoints.
  • Manage ALB, Route53, CloudFront, TLS certificates, and DNS configurations.
  • Apply AWS security best practices across applications and infrastructure.
  • Support security reviews, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness.

Production Reliability

  • Ensure high availability across ECS, ALB, CloudFront, Route53, and database services.
  • Establish CloudWatch logging, dashboards, metrics, alarms, and alerting standards.
  • Define incident-detection, escalation, communication, and postmortem processes.
  • Lead disaster-recovery and backup planning.
  • Define and validate recovery time and recovery point objectives.
  • Improve application resilience, fault tolerance, and production stability.

Scalability and Cost Optimization

  • Design application and infrastructure autoscaling strategies.
  • Prepare the platform for enterprise-scale customer and traffic growth.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks across the complete technology stack.
  • Optimize AWS costs without compromising security or reliability.
  • Establish appropriate tagging, budgeting, and cost-monitoring practices.
  • Evaluate Savings Plans, reserved capacity, storage policies, and architectural alternatives.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Serve as SOTAOG’s primary AWS technical authority.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor developers on AWS, security, reliability, and full-stack engineering practices.
  • Lead architecture reviews and technical design discussions.
  • Promote clear documentation and consistent engineering standards.
  • Balance strong governance with practical product-delivery requirements.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect — Associate or Professional
  • Experience with AWS Organizations and Control Tower
  • Experience implementing Service Control Policies
  • Multi-tenant SaaS architecture experience
  • Experience with AWS WAF, Shield, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Config
  • Experience defining RTO, RPO, backup, and regional disaster-recovery strategies
  • Previous technical leadership or architecture-ownership experience

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate remains close to the code while thinking strategically about architecture. You should be comfortable developing product features, reviewing infrastructure changes, resolving production incidents, mentoring engineers, and making decisions that improve security, reliability, scalability, and delivery speed.
